On July 6, a certain Nokia Lumia 910 appeared in Nokia’s own Remote Device Access service without any details though and the Nokia Lumia 1001 name is now popping up in the same place. As with the other phone, there is no information which, as always, leaves room for a lot of speculation.
If the Lumia 910 was supposed to be a Lumia 900 on (some) steroids while still running Windows Phone 7.5, the Lumia 1001, if it will ever exist, is believed to be the first of a new breed to run Windows Phone 8. Whether this is wishful thinking or just basic logic of the model number passing the 1000 mark is yet to be confirmed.
There are also a couple of questions regarding the legitimacy of this model number. The fact that it popped up in the same place just a couple of days after the Lumia 910 could raise a couple of eyebrows — or, just simply, the Pandora’s box is now open. Also, device names can be changed in the RDA so this might be fake from the very beginning. We’ll let you know more once we find out details.
