2017 年MTV音乐录像带大奖（Video Music Awards, VMA）在美国时间7月25日公布入围名单，饶舌歌手肯德里克·拉马尔·达克沃斯（Kendrick Lamar Duckworth）8项提名居冠，凯蒂·佩里（Katy Perry）和威肯（The Weeknd）5项居次，本届新增、合并部分奖项，取消区隔性别的奖，被誉为一大变革。
2017届 VMA将最佳男歌手与最佳女歌手录像带奖改为「年度最佳艺人」，此次入围该奖的包括4位男歌手火星人布鲁诺·马尔斯（Bruno Mars）、肯德里克·拉马尔·达克沃斯（Kendrick Lamar Duckworth）、红发艾德·希兰（Ed Sheeran）、威肯，以及2位女歌手爱莉安娜·格兰德（Ariana Grande）、洛德（Lorde）。
另一方面，更新增最佳反抗体制作品（Best Fight Against the System），表扬启发民众，鼓励为社会上不公不义的事站出来发声的音乐录像带，由于是美国总统川普上任后的首届VMA，该奖项因此备受瞩目。美国总统川普有可能成为本届 MTV音乐录像带大奖的主角也说不定。
